Lilly's mustache

I was so scared to let Lilly eat by herself because she already manages to make such a mess! To my amazement, she does pretty well. We shot this video because she accidentally gave herself a Hitler mustache with her food and she looked really cute.

Lilly is learning so much. Everyday, she does something new. She recently learned to:
-Find our noses and point to them
-Give a high five
-Push the clothes basket and stroller while standing
-Shout, "Wow!!"
-Say "Uh-oh" every time she drops something
-Eat with a spoon
-Sit with her books and pretend to read the story out loud

The Grandparents watch Lilly for the weekend!!

Steve's family plays with Lilly in this video. We can tell she had a lot of fun with them.  She was a little spoiled when we returned. Suddenly, she would not sleep in her crib or at her bedtime. That's okay though! We were sooo grateful to get away for the weekend. We went on a weekend cruise to Ensanada, Mexico. It was super relaxing!!

Lilly is changing every day!!

Lilly continues to learn all sorts of new skills. In this video, she says duck as she crawls around the kitchen and pulls herself up to retrieve her toys.

Another skill she has learned is whispering. She wakes up in the morning and starts baby talking (which sounds like japanese) in a small voice. So, I whisper back, "I love you too."

Valentines

I forgot to write about our Valentine's Day. We kept it pretty low-key. In fact, we spent most of the day shopping at Costco for Lilly's birthday. But  in the morning, I came down stairs to find theses two sweethearts. Steve fed Lilly and then made a romantic breakfast for the two of us. It seemed that Lilly was in on the surprise because she just sat in her high chair entertaining herself while mommy and daddy enjoyed their time together.

Lilly's Birthday!!

LILLY!!

Lilly had a great time at her first birthday party. She ate
Grandpa DiMaggio's homemade spaghetti for the first time
and had her first cupcake. She didn't even get sick; although,
she sure got a sugar high, That was Ok though because she
was super excited for her toy gifts and burned off the rest of
her energy crawling circles around the house with her cousins.

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008

Two weeks before Christmas, we all went to dinner and the San Diego temple to listen to Christmas music. The music was cancelled but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.

House sitting for the Youngs!

We moved to Pomona the weekend after Thanksgiving before Steve's grandparents left for their mission (hence the absence of postings). Lilly adjusted to the move quickly and now sleeps in her own room. we've been enjoying the space our washer/dryer; however, we do miss Fullerton. Hope all is well with everyone.

A special weekend with the Drurys.

Steve, Lilly, & I went down to Imperial Valley to welcome Trevor home from his mission. Lilly was immediately won over by Trevor's silly kangaroo dance and horse impersonations. The rest of us were won over by his good nature and his power example of righteousness.

The trip also consisted of a trip to Mrs. Drury's 3rd grade class. The

children  loved seeing little Lilly and all asked to touch her. "Just her arms. Feel how soft they are," replied Grandma Drury. Lilly seemed confused at all of her adoring fans.

Later on, Trevor, Downer, Tiffany, Spencer, Steve, and I went to our first rodeo. Other than the kids riding the sheep, we did not appreciate all the animal brutality and drunken participants. It was our first and last rodeo.

Halloween with Snow White, Tigger, and the Little Pumpkin!

Lilly and Madeline celebrated their first Halloween together with Emily. Although neither of them have enough teeth to eat candy, they accompanied Emily (snow white) trick or treating in Nanny's neighborhood. When we returned home, we all gathered (Nanny, Grandpa, Jessica, Steve, Me, and the kids) and watched scary movies. It was lots of fun!!
