A special weekend with the Drurys.

Steve, Lilly, & I went down to Imperial Valley to welcome Trevor home from his mission. Lilly was immediately won over by Trevor's silly kangaroo dance and horse impersonations. The rest of us were won over by his good nature and his power example of righteousness.

The trip also consisted of a trip to Mrs. Drury's 3rd grade class. The

children  loved seeing little Lilly and all asked to touch her. "Just her arms. Feel how soft they are," replied Grandma Drury. Lilly seemed confused at all of her adoring fans.

Later on, Trevor, Downer, Tiffany, Spencer, Steve, and I went to our first rodeo. Other than the kids riding the sheep, we did not appreciate all the animal brutality and drunken participants. It was our first and last rodeo.

Halloween with Snow White, Tigger, and the Little Pumpkin!

Lilly and Madeline celebrated their first Halloween together with Emily. Although neither of them have enough teeth to eat candy, they accompanied Emily (snow white) trick or treating in Nanny's neighborhood. When we returned home, we all gathered (Nanny, Grandpa, Jessica, Steve, Me, and the kids) and watched scary movies. It was lots of fun!!

At Tri City Park

Our family enjoyed a beautiful evening at the park in Fullerton. A cool wind blew across the lake and children's laughter filled our ears. Lilly had a great time!!

Precious moment with Nanny and Lilly

Lilly has not gotten
over her fear of the
sound of a flushing toilet.
She started to scream
in the La Paloma
bathroom and Nanny
came to her rescue.
There's nothing like
a great hug!

Fun in Laguna (Labor Day)

Teresa (Grandma) came out to visit us last weekend from Imperial. We sat around and played with Lilly and her new jumperoo. Of course, Lilly just ate up all the attention.

On Monday, we took Grandpa and Grandma Young out to breakfast in Laguna beach at Madison Square Gardens. The cafe is set up in this old house and the dining takes place in the garden surrounded by waterfalls and birdhouses. We all enjoyed ourselves.

After breakfast, we walked to the beach. Grandma Teresa made sure Lilly had a chance to stick her little toes into the sand. She loved it! When we walked her right up to the water, she just started to giggle as she heard the waves crash. Perhaps she will love the beach as much as her grandmother.

Just turned 6 months!!

We bought Lilly a bumbo seat. At first, she really liked it until she dropped her toy and went to reach for it. Then, she realized that she is trapped. Anyhow, it comes in handy for feedings and watching Elmo's World.

A great yogi does the 'happy baby pose.'

Life with Lilly continues to be delightful. She is almost six months and has recently mastered feeding herself the bottle while being supervised by me. Note how Lilly stares me down just to make sure I am still close by. Anyhow, this new development is a dream come true for moms. She is entertained by her gourmet bottle for 30 minutes. I can read or eat my own breakfast and enjoy a little freedom.

We also really love to see her grab her toes and try to eat them. This keeps her and us entertained. These pictures were taken on a lazy Sunday afternoon with Daddy lounging by her side.

At the Babysitter's

Look how cute these two are! Lilly couldn't resist holding Emily's hand while at her house (her mom, Janica, was babysitting for me).  This totally reminds us of the movie WallE.

Hairbows

Two happy Campers

Lilly and her duck, Max, are ready for our morning walk!!

Lilly just turned 5 months old last week. Her biggest accom-
plishment happened last Tuesday when she rolled from her back to her tummy!! This photo was taken just moments afterwards. My brother Paul was visiting from his upstairs apartment and he was the first to witness it. It seems that she does not have complete control yet. I found her crying in her crib yesterday because she rolled over and was laying on her face.

The rest of her time is spent busily studying her environment and toys. She is pulling things and putting everything in her mouth. It has been stunning watching as she discovers her surroundings and interacts.

Lilly Sophia was born on February 22, 2008 in Aneheim, California. We could never have imagined how different life would be with a baby. The journey has been full of challenges and wonders!!
